From May 22nd to 23rd, the review meeting of the 2025 Chemical Fiber Filament Innovative Fabric Design Competition was held in Zibo, Shandong Province. This event was hosted by the China Filament Weaving Association and organized by Shandong Vocational College of Light Industry. It aimed to promote the innovative development of chemical fiber filament fabrics and enhance the product innovation capabilities of the industry.
The event invited 13 experts from the Science and Technology Committee of the China Filament Weaving Association to form a review panel. The members come from the China Filament Weaving Association, Donghua University, Tianjin Polytechnic University, Soochow University, Jiangnan University, Shandong Engineering Vocational and Technical University, and Shandong Vocational College of Light Industry.
The competition attracted the active participation of 84 enterprises and received a total of 360 pieces of fabric. The competition was evaluated based on nine major categories of products, namely fashion, outdoor sports, casual wear, Chinese style and new trends, new functional products, bedding, curtains and decorative fabrics, industrial products, and linings.
In terms of application at the raw material end, the product demonstrates richness and innovation. The innovative applications of deep-processed silk threads such as elastic filament, twisted filament, coated filament, network filament and Chenier filament have been further upgraded. The proportion of functional raw materials such as graphene fiber and mycelium fiber has significantly increased, and the application of high-strength fibers such as aramid and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene has also increased, fully demonstrating the diversity of chemical fiber filament fabrics.
In terms of structural design, the transformation of the organizational structure of the participating products is more diverse. The application ratio of complex structures such as composite, heavy warp, double-layer, jacquard, double-layer jacquard, perforated and twisted yarns has increased, enriching the product types, hand feel and appearance layers of fabrics, providing consumers with more diversified choices.
