The 2026 Shishi Fashion Industry Development Conference, themed "Riding the Wind: The Trendy Transformation and Breakthrough of Men's Clothing and Casual Wear", was held in Shishi, Fujian Province on April 18th. 

The conference was organized by the China Fashion Designers Association and the Shishi Municipal Government. The participants, focusing on topics such as consumption upgrading and channel transformation, deeply discussed the transformation path of the men's clothing and casual wear industries from "scale benefits" to "value leap". 

Yan Yan, the vice president of the China Textile Industry Federation, stated in his speech that currently, the market structure of China's clothing industry is highly differentiated. Categories such as sportswear and casual wear, outdoor functionality, and Chinese trend originality have shown leading growth rates. The industry is shifting from scale expansion to value enhancement and from product supply to demand leadership. Shishi is at the forefront in digital transformation, fabric innovation, and upgrading of the industrial chain, providing practical experience for the industry. 

Yang Jian, the executive chairman of the China Fashion Designers Association, stated that current consumer demands are shifting from necessity to experience. Leading brands are accelerating their digitalization and functional transformation. The association will collaborate deeply with the Shishi industrial cluster to inject creative momentum and cultural strength into the industrial innovation and development. 

Zhang Ziyao, the deputy mayor of Shishi City Government, introduced that over the past 40 years, Shishi has established a complete textile and clothing industrial chain. It is actively promoting intelligent and digital transformation, embracing new technologies such as AI design, flexible production, and digital twins, and striving to move from a manufacturing city to a manufacturing powerhouse.
