On October 14th, the 2026 Modern Light Industry and Textile Industry Chain Innovation and Industrial Innovation Integration Results Connection Activity was held in Rizhao, Shandong Province. This event was jointly organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, and the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology. Zhou Shenghong, the vice mayor of Rizhao City and the deputy director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, attended the event and delivered a speech. Nearly 150 representatives from light textile industry enterprises, universities, research institutions, and industry associations participated in the event.

The event focused on the goal of upgrading the modern light industry and textile industry to be high-end, intelligent, and green. It built a precise platform for the integration of industry, academia, and research. Universities such as Qingdao University and Shandong Vocational University successively introduced innovative achievements such as multi-functional fiber new materials, clothing intelligent manufacturing, and pilot platform construction. Enterprise representatives shared practical cases of industrial digital transformation and the marketization of new products. On-site, exchanges and negotiations were held on directions such as advanced fibers, functional textiles, AI textile manufacturing, and green dyeing and finishing, to break through the transformation channels between university research results and industrial applications.

Modern light industry and textile is a landmark ten-strong industry in Shandong Province, covering sectors such as spinning and weaving, clothing and home textiles, and industrial textiles. This connection meeting closely followed the Shandong Provincial Light Industry and Textile Industry Innovation and Technology Action Plan, focusing on the layout of the innovation chain based on the industrial chain, collecting high-quality technological achievements, promoting enterprises and research institutions to reach project cooperation intentions, and cultivating new quality productive forces.
